Join us for Shabbat morning services starting at 9:30 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., we’ll move to our Rabbi’s Table study session, with Gideon Amir.  We will study some interesting aspects about Shavuot, including:
— What are we actually celebrating and when should we celebrate it?
— The origins of the counting of the Omer
— Is Shavuot a holiday on its own?Plus:  Why do we eat dairy on Shavuot?  What has been the impact of the establishment of the State of Israel on the nature of the holiday in our times?  And any other Shavuot-related questions you might have!  Gideon Amir is a widely-respected local educator and member of SHN, who teaches courses on biblical topics at numerous synagogues, churches, and adult education institutes, including the Foundation for Jewish Studies.
