Join Hazzan Ramón and Steve Marcus for the Shabbat before the national election: Parashat Lekh Lekha (Go Forth and vote!). Victor Frankl, a psychiatrist and Shoa survivor, wrote: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing; the last of the human freedoms –  to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”  On the Shabbat when we choose,  we invite our members Cindy Arnson, George Leventhal, Michelle Altemus, Nancy Wallace, Lin Nemiroff , Robyn Robbyns and David Balto to take an aliyah as we celebrate their distinguished service to this country. We will recite together a voting prayer (thank you, Rabbi Gerry, for sharing it) and a prayer for the spiritual welfare of the United States at a time of trial. Jesse Palidofsky, who co-wrote 2020 lyrics for “America the Beautiful,” will comment on the experience prior to ending the service with the performance of his new and powerful version.

The Zoom link will be in the weekly e-newsletter or contact us at
