Shabbat Morning Service and Rabbi’s Table with Amy Schwartz: Can Robots Be Jewish? May 1, 2021 • 10:00 a.m.
Join Rabbi Gilah for Shabbat morning services and a fond farewell to our long-time members Francesca and Brad German who are moving to Cleveland. Guest speaker at our Rabbi’s Table will be Amy Schwartz from Moment Magazine, who recently edited many of the magazine’s “Ask the Rabbi” responses into a book entitled “Can Robots Be Jewish? and Other Pressing Questions of Modern Life.” We’ll take a whimsical and serious look at some of the issues, from “Should Jewish Children Sing Christmas Carols?” to “When Does Life Begin?” — and rabbinic responses from almost the full spectrum of Jewish life. Zoom links will be available in the newsletter, or contact our coordinator Janet Braun, info@shirathanefesh.org
Shirat HaNefesh Annual Community MeetingJune 13, 2021 • 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
It’s that time of the year — and what a year it has been! Let’s look back at our accomplishments and forward to our challenges and opportunities, at the Shirat HaNefesh Annual Meeting, for members only. We’ll be spending time during the meeting welcoming new board members and saluting those stepping down. We’ll have breakout groups exploring options for High Holidays and long-range planning among other things. Zoom link will be shared in a future e-newsletter. See you there!

A Warm Welcome from Our Clergy

Rabbi Gilah Langner
A place of learning, joy, and music. A place to find a connection to Judaism. A community of social justice seekers. We welcome you to Shirat HaNefesh, a place to find the song of your own spiritual soul. We are open to seekers of all backgrounds and levels of interest.
We fill our services with beautiful music of both Ashkenazi and Sephardi traditions, and we consider no question too foolish or too deep to put to the rabbi. Bring your cup of coffee and your kids. Wherever you are on your Jewish path, come find a home at Shirat HaNefesh.

Hazzan (Cantor) Ramón Tasat
