Come to Our Services!

Services at Shirat HaNefesh bring folks from many backgrounds together to seek a meaningful connection with one another, with their Jewish heritage and people, and with God.

We strive to pray with kavvanah, conscious intention. Our music taps the vast wellsprings of Jewish tradition, ancient and modern, Sephardic and Ashkenazi. Come sing a new song!  We welcome everyone to worship in our synagogue community. See calendar for details.

SHABBAT
Our Shabbat services are intimate and filled with uplifting music and spiritual inspiration.  Give us a try!  We hold Shabbat morning services every week.  We have Friday night services twice a month.  Please always check our online calendar for schedule changes.

Second Friday Nights with the Kolot HaLev Choir: Lots of folks, gorgeous music, ruach, and dancing. Join us for a truly spirited welcome of the Sabbath Queen with Kolot HaLev, our choir in residence, led by Hazzan Ramón Tasat.  Held on the second Friday night of the month except during the summer.

Friday Nights Live!! Join us for a short service at 6:30 welcoming the Sabbath followed by a delicious potluck vegetarian dinner at 7:00.  At 7:30 we’ll have a surprise treat of some kind – a kumsitz of 60’s music. A play performed by our teens. A session of Yiddish dancing.  Speakers on social justice issues.  A Jewish sports Jeopardy game. A Tu B’Shvat Seder … Whatever it is, we hope it will delight your soul.

Dates:  Setp. 16, Oct. 28, Nov. 18, Dec. 16, 2016. Jan. 6, Feb. 10, March 24, April 28, May 26, 2017.

Fifth Friday – Shabbat at Home: When a month contains five Fridays, we “take the fifth” to share  the joy of Shabbat in a communal setting or in each others’ homes.  Please note that when there is a fifth Friday, there is no service at our regular location. Consult calendar for details.
